This Legal Disclaimer applies to Guardian Wallet's websites, mobile applications, browser extensions, dashboards, tools, communications, content, and services.

1. General Information Only

Guardian Wallet provides software tools for subscription visibility, privacy, merchant-specific payment controls, email aliases, alerts, and cancellation assistance.

Information shown through Guardian Wallet is for general informational and organizational purposes only. It may be incomplete, delayed, estimated, or inaccurate.

You should verify subscription terms, billing terms, renewal dates, cancellation requirements, refunds, outstanding balances, chargebacks, and account status directly with the relevant merchant, bank, issuer, card network, payment provider, or account provider.

2. Guardian Wallet Is Not a Bank or Card Issuer

Guardian Wallet is not a bank, credit union, trust company, deposit-taking institution, card issuer, card network, lender, money-services business, securities dealer, investment adviser, portfolio manager, insurance company, credit bureau, debt-settlement company, or credit-repair company, unless expressly stated in separate product-specific terms.

Virtual Cards, transaction processing, card authorization, settlement, chargebacks, bank-account linking, and regulated payment functions are provided by the applicable Issuer/Payment Partner.

Your rights and obligations for card transactions are governed by the applicable Issuer/Payment Partner agreement.

3. No Deposit Insurance or Stored-Value Account

Guardian Wallet does not hold customer funds and does not provide a deposit account, stored-value balance, e-money account, or wallet balance.

Any funds held by a bank, issuer, processor, or payment provider are governed by that provider's terms. Guardian Wallet does not represent that any funds, balances, credits, refunds, or transaction proceeds are insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation or by any provincial deposit insurer unless the applicable regulated provider expressly states that coverage applies.

4. Regulatory-Registration Disclaimer

Where Guardian Wallet, an Issuer/Payment Partner, or another service provider is registered with, supervised by, or listed by a regulator, such registration, supervision, or listing does not imply endorsement, approval, insurance, performance guarantee, or recommendation by that regulator.

Guardian Wallet does not claim to be regulated as a bank, issuer, PSP, MSB, securities dealer, or insurer unless expressly stated in product-specific disclosures.

5. No Financial, Legal, Tax, Investment, or Credit Advice

Guardian Wallet does not provide financial planning, legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, investment advice, debt advice, insurance advice, credit counselling, credit repair, or securities recommendations.

Subscription insights, estimated savings, spending alerts, cancellation prompts, and merchant data are not advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for professional advice.

You are responsible for your financial decisions, legal obligations, subscription contracts, payments, cancellations, disputes, refunds, and tax reporting.

6. No Fiduciary Relationship

Your use of Guardian Wallet does not create a fiduciary, trustee, escrow, advisory, agency-for-all-purposes, broker, dealer, representative, or professional-client relationship.

Where Guardian Wallet submits a cancellation request at your direction, Guardian Wallet acts only as your limited agent for that specific cancellation-assistance task and only according to your instructions.

7. Cancellation Assistance Is Not Guaranteed

Guardian Wallet may help you identify subscriptions and may provide cancellation templates, steps, reminders, merchant instructions, email-alias workflows, and request-submission tools.

Guardian Wallet does not guarantee that:

  • a subscription will be cancelled;
  • a merchant will accept a cancellation request;
  • a merchant will process a request by a specific date;
  • a merchant will refund any amount;
  • a merchant will waive fees or outstanding balances;
  • a merchant will recognize an alias or communication channel;
  • a Virtual Card pause will cancel your underlying contract;
  • a charge will be blocked; or
  • you will avoid all future billing.

You remain responsible for reviewing merchant terms and confirming cancellation directly with the merchant where necessary.

8. Virtual Card Control Limitations

Virtual Card controls are intended to help manage payment credentials. They are not a legal cancellation mechanism and are not a guarantee against future charges.

Charges may still occur because of merchant descriptor changes, delayed transactions, offline processing, recurring-transaction rules, retries, card-network token updates, pre-authorizations, taxes, foreign-currency adjustments, issuer decisions, merchant billing practices, technical delays, or use of another payment method.

Blocking a card may result in failed payments, service interruption, account suspension, collections activity, late fees, or breach of your merchant agreement. You are responsible for understanding the consequences before pausing, limiting, or closing a Virtual Card.

9. Subscription Data and Savings Estimates

Guardian Wallet may estimate subscriptions, renewal dates, price changes, unused subscriptions, duplicate services, or potential savings.

These estimates may be wrong. They may rely on incomplete transaction data, merchant names, email data, user input, third-party data, automated classification, or pattern recognition.

Guardian Wallet does not guarantee any savings, refunds, avoided fees, avoided renewals, cancellation success, or financial outcome.

10. Merchant and Third-Party Responsibility

Merchants, banks, issuers, card networks, processors, account-linking providers, identity-verification providers, email providers, app stores, and other third parties are independent from Guardian Wallet.

Guardian Wallet is not responsible for their products, services, terms, privacy practices, fees, billing, refunds, outages, security incidents, decisions, or errors.

A link, integration, logo, merchant name, or reference does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or approval unless expressly stated.

11. Security Disclaimer

Guardian Wallet uses safeguards designed to protect personal information and account data. However, no system, network, device, application, integration, or transmission method is completely secure.

Guardian Wallet does not guarantee that the Services will be free from unauthorized access, malware, vulnerabilities, service interruptions, data loss, or security incidents.

You are responsible for securing your devices, email accounts, passwords, passcodes, two-factor-authentication methods, and connected accounts.

12. AI, Automation, and Classification Tools

Guardian Wallet may use automation, machine learning, rules-based systems, or artificial-intelligence tools to classify subscriptions, identify merchants, generate cancellation templates, detect possible savings, summarize merchant terms, or suggest next steps.

Automated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for your circumstances. You must review important outputs before relying on them.

Guardian Wallet does not use automated outputs to provide legal, financial, tax, investment, credit, or professional advice.

13. Website and Educational Content

Blog posts, guides, FAQs, screenshots, examples, templates, merchant instructions, product descriptions, and educational content are provided for general information only.

They may not reflect the latest merchant policy, law, regulation, fee, product feature, or availability.

We may update, remove, or correct content at any time without notice, subject to applicable law.

14. No Warranty

Guardian Wallet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law.

Guardian Wallet disclaims warranties and conditions of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, security, savings, cancellation success, merchant cooperation, transaction blocking, and refund outcomes, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guardian Wallet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, aggravated, exemplary, or similar damages, including lost savings, merchant charges, failed cancellations, subscription renewals, declined transactions, chargeback outcomes, data loss, loss of goodwill, or service interruption.

Nothing in this Disclaimer limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

16. Trademarks

Guardian Wallet, its logos, product names, and service names are trademarks or trade names of Guardian Wallet Inc. or its licensors.

Merchant names, card-network marks, bank names, issuer names, app-store marks, and third-party logos belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation unless expressly stated.

17. Consumer Rights Preserved

Nothing in this Legal Disclaimer limits your non-waivable rights under Canadian federal, provincial, or territorial law, including consumer-protection, privacy, payment, language, civil-code, or unfair-practice laws.
